Mr. Nilanka Imbuldeniya

Mr. Nilanka Imbuldeniya brings nearly two decades of leadership experience in the education sector, spanning primary, secondary, and tertiary education. He is the Founder and CEO of UniPlan Education (Pvt) Ltd, an international education consultancy with offices in Colombo and Galle, dedicated to guiding students toward high-quality global learning opportunities.

Educated at S. Thomas’ Preparatory School and S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia, Mr. Imbuldeniya went on to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Marketing at Edith Cowan University, Australia, followed by an International MBA from Birmingham City University, UK. This strong academic foundation underpins his deep understanding of both global education systems and modern management practices.

Mr. Imbuldeniya began his professional journey in the corporate sector with HSBC and Brandix Essentials, gaining valuable industry and business exposure. Driven by a passion for education, he then returned to his alma mater as an Economics teacher. Since then, he has held a wide range of roles in teaching, lecturing, coaching, and administration, building a comprehensive perspective on the education ecosystem.

Before establishing UniPlan Education in 2026, Mr. Imbuldeniya served as Director General of the Lyceum Education Sector, overseeing seven institutions across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. In this capacity, he contributed to strategic growth, quality assurance, and the enhancement of academic and co-curricular standards.

Today, Mr. Nilanka Imbuldeniya is regarded as an experienced education professional and strategist, committed to helping students, families, and institutions navigate the evolving landscape of international education.

As Director – Business Development & Enrolments at UniPlan Education, she leads the organisation’s business development and enrolment strategy, with a focus on expanding student recruitment opportunities, strengthening stakeholder relationships and developing new areas for growth. She is committed to ensuring that students and families receive ethical, personalised, and well informed guidance throughout their international education journey.

In addition to his admissions expertise, Mr. Wickremasinghe currently serves as an Administrator at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Public School in Markham, Ontario, where he contributes to the effective management and administration of educational programs and services.
